Flavours on the Plate, Creativity on the Paper
Exploring an approach to harness Food Waste for Innovative Paper Production
I embarked on repurposing food waste innovatively. After a diligent collection of everyday items like edamame shells, coffee grounds, sour plum remnants, eggshells, and tea leaves, I integrated them with paper waste. I tested diverse paper-making techniques through systematic experiments, considering factors such as odour development, foldability, strength, and preservation methods. Remarkably, each material infused the paper with distinct traits, shaping its texture, colour, and scent, prioritizing functionality over visual aesthetics.
