About Open Endings
Endings carry an unsettling weight. It symbolises finality, provides structure to temporality. In design, however, endings are rarely absolute. A project may conclude, but its effects ripple outward through interaction and iteration. As long as a sense of conclusion lingers, the narrative continues.
This year's archive celebrates graduates from the School of Design Communication at Lasalle College of the Arts, University of the Arts Singapore. Across diverse disciplines, media, and intentions, these projects occupy a space between culmination and continuation. Some imagine speculative or utopian futures. Others confront the present, shifting perspectives through sharp provocation or quiet intervention. All remain open to interpretation, collaboration, and evolution.
Open Endings presents work that proposes, reimagines, unsettles, and leaves loose threads. Unfinished not in craft, but in their potential to act and transform. As you explore this year's showcase, we invite you not only to observe what has been achieved, but to imagine what comes next.
