Anti-smoking non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Jakarta have difficulties due to the country's large tobacco business and permissive anti-smoking laws, as youths are frequently exposed to tobacco marketing. Through an empathy approach to assist youth in quitting smoking or preventing initiation, this project examines the role of design activism in connecting NGOs with teenagers who have become desensitized to advertisements in Jakarta.
