Jiwon is a designer who likes making things—big or small, useful or useless. She tends to overthink and imagine too much, but believes that's part of the fun. If what she makes happens to do some good in the world, that's even better.
The Forgotten Archive - A speculative taxonomy of a lost species
A speculative exhibition exploring how extinct species might be remembered and reimagined in the distant future.
An immersive exhibition that simulates how our lost wildlife might be reconstructed in the distant future. The archive presents a fictional reconstruction where extinct species—wiped out by habitat loss, ecological disruption, and long-term environmental change—are imperfectly pieced back together, through fragmented evidence and speculative analysis. The archive questions the narrative of our natural history through the ethics of speculative preservation in the wake of irreversible environmental loss. How would our ecological memory be reinterpreted by those who come after us, and what legacy do we want to leave behind?
