A designer focused on figuring out how to communicate through design and technology. I'm Carissa and I genuinely just like understanding how things work, whether that's pulling apart a piece of tech to see what's inside or figuring out why a design decision feels right or wrong. As I go through the stress and cables, I like how things go beep boop, I guess :D. That curiosity kind of spreads into everything I make, from hardware prototypes to live visuals to writing about design and culture.
Visual Harmonics
Technology that learns the performer's gestures, not the other way around.
Visual Harmonics explores how traditional Malay percussion performers can control digital visuals through their own gestural language. By designing interfaces that adapt to existing performance skills rather than demanding new ones, the project positions technology as a tool that follows the performer, not the other way around.
