Clemence is a multidisciplinary designer with a practice spanning multimedia design, print and publication design, design systems, and design strategy. Driven by narrative thinking and a deep consideration for how audiences experience design, he crafts work that translates ideas into visuals and experiences. Outside of the studio, Clemence can be found with a camera in hand, chasing light and documenting the world around him, or up at night supporting his beloved football club.
From the Left
Questioning design's assumed neutrality by centering left-handed experience
This project explores lateral bias in writing systems through the medium of typography and the writing experience. Through structured writing activities built around an experimental typeface designed for the natural left-handed stroke direction, it delves into the writing experience beyond the directionality constraints of the writing system, highlighting the bias embedded within design systems and questioning the neutrality we assume in design.
