Magic in the Machine
In a world run by algorithms hidden from us, how different is technology from magic?
As algorithmic, data-driven technology took over older forms of decision-making (think astrology, tarot, oujia boards), so did myths of objectivity, rationality, and accuracy. As these technologies become more pervasive in our lives, do they start to take on the role of false oracles? By reimagining modern technology through rituals of divination, this project explores new ways for meaning-making through a series of speculative oracles. Each one inviting you to embrace absurdity, trust intuition, and engage with technology like you would with magic.
