Designing with Our Roots
Reimagining human-nature interaction through responsive design to evoke multisensory ecological connection.
Urbanisation and environmental degradation have distanced humans from nature, reducing it to a resource rather than a living presence. While policies like Singapore's Green Plan 2030 promote sustainability, they often overlook the need for ethical and emotional reconnection with the more-than-human world. This project reimagines human-nature interaction through responsive design, transforming spaces like Coney Island into sensory dialogues where vibration, touch, sound and movement foster ecological empathy and invite us to experience nature as a reciprocal partner.
