As a creative, Ummi Qhalisha finds inspiration in the quiet details of everyday life, where culture, memory, and design intersect. Her work, through both design and photography, explores how traditional practices and overlooked narratives can be preserved and reinterpreted. Ummi's process is shaped by observation, intuition, and curiosity, with the aim to create work that honors stories, values, and histories beyond her own.
Sippin Roots Elixir Bar
Sippin' Roots elevates jamu with luxury drinks and batik-inspired design for young adults.
Sippin' Roots is a luxury elixir bar dedicated to reviving the tradition of jamu in Singapore, especially among young adults navigating early adulthood. Inspired by my own journey as a graduating student, the space is designed to offer comfort, healing, and reconnection through authentic, brewed herbal drinks. In a society where jamu is often overlooked or commercialized, this bar elevates it as a cultural treasure and something to be experienced, not just consumed. Alongside the drinks, handcrafted batik-inspired designs are incorporated into the packaging and visual identity, paying tribute to the artistry and heritage of Indonesian culture. The luxurious setting reflects the value of tradition and self-care, while inviting a new generation to rediscover their roots, one sip at a time.
