Led by Lim Shu Min
This atelier explores how design constructs the narratives and symbols that represent our histories, traditions, values and practices. We examine the role of design in preserving, transmitting and evolving cultural knowledge on a global, regional, national or local scale, and how this intersects with questions about authenticity, authority and power. Projects investigate how design communicates beliefs and behaviours, while also experimenting with building upon this to create stories and visual languages that influence how cultures are shared and identities are acquired.
