Zarina

Where craftsmanship meets cultural revival

  • Branding and Identity
  • Graphic Design

Zarina is a slow fashion concept brand created to support home-based women artisans who keep Kamdani alive. Kamdani is a centuries-old embroidery technique from Lucknow that was once crafted for royalty. Today, it survives in small homes where women work long hours in poor conditions, receiving little pay and no recognition. This project questions the way luxury fashion continues to benefit from invisible labour. At Zarina, artisans are at the forefront. Each garment carries the name and story of its maker. Through direct collaboration, transparent pricing, and thoughtful storytelling, Zarina offers these women visibility, dignity, and financial independence. By combining cultural preservation with modern design values, Zarina shifts the meaning of luxury from brand names to craftsmanship and care. It is not just a brand, but an effort to ensure that Kamdani lives on through the hands that have kept it alive.
