A system that can help use less single-use plastic disposables.
Kampung Admiralty is a green community, but it is not considered sustainable when people use plastic containers for takeaway at the hawker centre, resulting in plastic waste. Through behavioural design, this project aims to reduce single-use plastic disposables at the Kampung Admiralty hawker centre and create a sustainable practice for the community. DABAO LAH! creates a system whereby people can borrow reusable containers from the vending machines at Kampung Admiralty hawker centre. This vending machine will dispense reusable containers and reward users for each borrowed container. Users are given 15 days to return DABAO LAH! containers to any return points in the estate unless the containers are reused. Patrons who prefer to bring their own containers can also participate in this rewarding system. Moreover, DABAO LAH! containers are made of silicone, which can withstand high temperatures and is food safe. It is designed to be collapsible so that users can carry it easily and conveniently.
